Fernando Hausch-Fen has helped lead the design and successful completion of many of the firm’s academic, institutional, civic, and cultural projects. His project roles have encompassed all stages of design from inception to construction, frequently involving coordination among diverse constituencies, including user groups, university staff and administrators, and local and federal government agencies. His experience includes: the 221,000 sf Experimental Media Performing Arts Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; the renovation and expansion of the Lawrence and Eris Field Building at 17 Lex at Baruch College of The City University of New York; and the new 1,000,000 sf US Embassy Compound in Mexico City, designed in collaboration with Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects. He is currently applying his breadth of experience on New York University’s 181 Mercer project, a new 735,000 sf, mixed-use facility providing new facilities for several departments ranging from athletics, performing arts, and academic classrooms to university housing for students and faculty.
