520,000 SF • 48,300 SQ M
Set on 200 acres of rolling pastureland, this modular solution to a sophisticated electronics laboratory places all the major functions of the lab in one-story tiers to maximize natural light, realize economies in the structural system, and reduce the apparent scale of the building in the landscape.
The 520,000 sf building is unified by a dramatic glass-enclosed center spine that runs the entire length of the facility. The spine provides a sense of interior campus through several large informal areas with refreshments and comfortable seating. It also permits ready access to support services, as well as to the ten 10,000 sf lab modules. Because of the flexible design and modular nature of the facility, each module can be quickly reconfigured as demands or requirements change, or as new research needs emerge.
