André Pause has been with Davis Brody Bond for over a decade, after working for several New York City based architecture firms including Studio Daniel Libeskind. Since joining the firm, he has been involved with a multitude of work at Davis Brody Bond, straddling between the Architecture and Marketing Studio. He has shepherded some of our projects from proposals to project initiation, from concept designs through design development, and from project close-out to press releases and awards coordination.
Mr. Pause has worked on several of our recent and ongoing projects, including the John A. Paulson Center at NYU; the Zero Irving Technology Hub; new Land Ports of Entry at Trout River, NY and Highgate Springs, VT; the new Administration and Visitor Center at the Martin Van Buren National Historic Home; and the Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami. In addition, he was an integral member of the design teams for Davis Brody Bond’s competition entries for WTC 5, the National Medal of Honor Museum, and Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 6. Mr. Pause has also contributed to programming, planning, and feasibility studies for the United States’ Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations, National Park Service, and General Services Administration.
In Marketing, Mr. Pause co-directs the Studio’s proposal efforts with a focus on project design approaches. Additionally, he oversees the creative direction of project documentation including collateral creation, project photography, and press kits. He manages press and awards outreach, having garnered the firm notable design awards including the American institute of Architect’s Honor Award, and articles in many trade and international news outlets including Architectural Record, German outlets Detail Magazine and Deutsche Bauzeitung, as well as the Italian publication the Plan.
Mr. Pause holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the New Jersey School of Architecture where he returns as a critic. He is also involved with Build Out Alliance, a NYC based organization for LGBTQ+ members of the A/E/C industry.
